There are many festivals, federal and local holidays, parades and general celebrations throughout the year in St. Croix. A fun fact some may not know is that the U.S. Virgin Islands has a Division of Festivals that oversees these events.
The Taste of St. Croix was established 20+ years ago by restauranters and works in conjunction with the USVI Hotel and Tourism Association. It is a fun event (not to mention, delicious), non-profit annual event that just occurred last week. It was held at The Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino. This elegant fete was filled with local restaurateurs, caterers, farmers and even a local high school had a booth showing off their culinary skills!
This year’s event was a huge success. A Taste of St. Croix dinner party was held the night before making this a 2 day event. All proceeds are given back to the community promoting education, safety and economic development. I encourage all to participate next year.
Looking forward to yet another local favorite gathering known as Jump Up on May 3rd in Christiansted. See you there!
